Fraud at the Highest Levels

I know the fact that the moral defectives who run the country are acting like moral defectives is about as newsworthy as the sun rising in east (except in months beginning with the letter "R").

But just in case anyone out there still has some shred of faith in our government, go watch this Bill Moyers interview of William K. Black, author of The Best Way to Rob a Bank Is to Own One. The cynics are having a field day.

Anyone who wants to be our "dear leader" should immediately be disqualified for the position.

That was the stated view of our first president.

Of course, now the bureaucracy runs the show instead of Congress, which is why any "throw the bums out" movement would accomplish nothing. Congress and some of Obama's closest advisers (if not Obama himself) are certainly neck-deep in this mess, but their role pales compared to regulators.

Everyone keeps yapping that this was caused by Bush deregulating the banks. Which he certainly did, along with Clinton and Bush Sr. But there were gross violations of still-existing regulations and I'm not seeing any perp walks.
