Now We Are Safe
We can all breath easy now; a high school junior has been punished for using Firefox instead of IE. The Rules Must Be Obeyed. Even when they make absolutely no sense. If the school has an IE-only policy (which it is perfectly free to do), then why is Firefox installed on a school PC? Stupidity combined with gross incompetence.

You might want to update this post. Looks like it was a hoax. Although, I wouldn't put it past some schools to do this...
The fact that something so stupid was even believable says a great deal. And I know for a fact that the Kalkaska High School has intentionally blocked Jerry Pournelle's site due to his criticism of teachers' unions.
