Another Mom update

I finally got to talk to my Mom this morning. She seems to be doing good. Yesterday the "pain management" problem was because the nurse and the aide both dropped her leg -- twice in one day! No wonder she had to have morphine shots before her therapy. She has been up walking with some help -- she was able to wash her hair yesterday (or this morning) herself. Her sugar is still too high, but the Dr isn't too worried about it. It isn't being caused by what she eats -- it is the stress from the surgery to her body. The Dr did not release her home today -- he would have if Mom would have insisted, but they both agreed to another night in the hospital. Mom knows the pain meds are much better while in the hospital and after the set back of having her leg dropped twice, she wasn't up to going home on regular pain meds. She should be released tomorrow sometime. The therapy will be set up to come directly to her home, so she won't have to deal with trying to get in/out of the car right away.
